Trade Finance Reporting & Client Analysis

Problem

The trade finance desk needed evidence-based client analysis to back investment proposals to development banks (EBRD, ADB) — but transaction data sat in raw exports with no systematic reporting.

Approach

1. 01Wrote SQL queries over transaction data to segment clients by volume, product mix, and repayment behavior.
2. 02Built recurring Excel dashboards tracking letter-of-credit and trade finance activity.
3. 03Identified high-performing clients suitable for inclusion in funding proposals.
4. 04Packaged the analysis into PowerPoint materials used in proposals to EBRD and ADB.

Outcome

Client selection for investment proposals moved from judgment calls to transaction-level evidence, strengthening the bank's case in front of EBRD and ADB.
